Match Report (GRCC vs TWCC @ GRCC)

GRCC won the toss and elected to bat.

Abhishek and Rajeev opened the batting with the objective to give the team good opening stand and see through the opening bowlers. They took the score to around 38 in 8 overs before Rajeev got out to a ball which kept very low. Kunal Jain joined Abhishek in the middle but Kunal did not last long and was bowled by Sanjay. Ajay joined Abhishek, they both kept the score board moving nicely and things looked good for GRCC but then Ajay was out to a good out swinger by Rajesh. Abhsihek who was looking well settled got out again on 35. He has been out on 35 at least 3-4 times this year. Vivek and Vicky Channaraj played well and moved the score comfortably. TWCC bowlers were bowling well to keep the run rate around 5.5 or so until Vivek cut loose hitting sixes and fours all over the ground. Vicky was caught in deep trying push the score after scoring steady 33. Vivek was caught brialiianty at long off by the TWCC. It was a stupendous catch, fielder jumped in the air grabbed the bowl one handed coverting a six into a wicket. Vivek again played a splendied inning for GRCC and helped the team cross 200. TWCC did well in the end by taking 4 GRCC wickets in last 3 overs. GRCC ended with 210 for 9. GRCC needed 200+ against a very talented and strong batting line up of TWCC.

Ramesh opened the bowling for GRCC and was very unfortunate to not get dangerous Anthony out in first over. He was dropped twice in first over. Hari started the second over and bowled Anthony with a beuatiful in swinger. Ramesh was all fired up and cleaned up strong & long batting order of TWCC with his exceptional swing bowling. He appeared unplayable in his spell. He took 5 wickets in first 5 overs with 4 bowled & 1 lbw. Hari took 2 wicket as Ramesh's opening partner and all of a sudden TWCC was down to 47 for 7 in 9 overs. TWCC did not give up and continued to play with positive attitiude. Rajesh and Nitin took the score to hundered before Vivek who was introduced as a leg spinner got both of them supported by excellent catches in slip and long-off.

Men of the match: Vivek for 68 runs and 2 wickets AND Ramesh Natarajan for his exceptional swing bowling and finsihing the game in first 10 overs (5 wicket).
